No. 9 UMD Falls to No. 2 Wisconsin on Senior Night

Despite getting on the board first, the No. 9 UMD women's hockey team fell 4-1 to No. 2 Wisconsin Friday night at AMSOIL Arena. It was senior night and CramTheAm for UMD. Fans could get into the game for $1 or for free with a donation. 


Ryleigh Houston netted the first goal of the game in the first period to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.

Wisconsin's Sophie Shirley and Grace Bowlby scored in the second, Bowlby netting the go-ahead goal for the Badgers on a power-play. 

Daryl Watts and Brette Pettet scored in the third helping the Badgers to a 4-1 victory.

UMD goaltender Maddie Rooney tallied 28 saves. 

UMD closes out their regular season hosting Wisconsin in game two of their WCHA series Sunday at 2:07 p.m.
