No. 2 North Dakota Rallies Late, Splitting Series with No. 11 UMD

Four goals were scored in the third period, but it was No. 2 North Dakota who took home the 3-2 victory over the No. 11 UMD men's hockey team for the NCHC series split.


Westin Michaud scored first for the Fighting Hawks in the second period. 

Luke Loheit and Scott Perunovich scored in the third period to take the 2-1 lead. Perunovick's goal coming on the power play. However, North Dakota ansered with two late goals of their own to win 3-2. 

Hunter Shepard, with his 105th start, broke the NCAA record for consecutive starts. He tallied 20 saves in net for UMD. For the full box score click here.

AMSOIL Arena boasted a record attendance with 7,711 fans for Saturday night's game. 

Next, UMD (13-9-2) faces Denver on the road for another NCHC series Friday and Saturday.
