UMD Men's & Women's Basketball 1&2 in NSIC Preseason Coach's Polls

The NSIC preseason coach's polls, the UMD men's basketball team was picked to finish first in the Northern Division and the women's team came in second.  


Last season the UMD men finished 17-10 including a visit to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament. They're picked to finish first, nine points ahead of Northern State.

The women went 23-7 last season, making it all the way to the NCAA II quarterfinals, falling to MSU-Moorhead. MSU-Moorhead is picked to finish first.

Senior forward Brandon Myer and sophomore forward Brook Olson were named the players to watch. 

The Bulldog men kick off the year with an exhibition match against Wisconsin-Superior (Nov. 4) in Duluth.

UMD women open up the season with two home exhibition matches against Bethel University and Wisconsin-Superior (Nov. 1 & 4).
