On Monday, Cloquet baseball and softball were in action just five minutes away from each other, but with different results. Cloquet softball took down Moose Lake/Willow River 8-4, while Cloquet baseball was shut out by Rock Ridge, falling 10-0.

Cloquet baseball made a handful of unforced errors, which wasn’t helpful in the already out-of-hand game thanks to Rock Ridge’s high powered offense.

The Lumberjack next take on Hermantown on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., while Rock Ridge takes on Two Harbors on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

On the softball diamond, the Lumberjacks went down early thanks to a Rebels home run, but Allie Jones of Cloquet was able to settle in and strike out 13 batters.

The Lumberjacks will continue through their schedule taking on Hibbing on Wednesday at noon, while the Rebels turn to Carlton/Wrenshall on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
