Bulldogs sweep weekend series agaisnt Alaska

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team was at home Saturday night taking on the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the second of a back-to-back.

Friday’s game resulted in a 5-1 win for UMD but Saturdays match was a little different.

Both teams would be held scoreless after 60 minutes of play.

In the overtime frame it was the captain Noah Cates, who scored the game winning goal off the face-off, to get UMD the victory.

Next game for the Dogs will be Friday against Northern Michigan University.
