Conference and National Weekly Recognition for Iowa Senior, Port Wing Native Megan Gustafson

Iowa City, Iowa. - In the 1986, the pop group known as the Bangles released 'Manic Monday.' Port Wing native and Iowa senior Megan Gustafson wasn't born then, but these days when weekly women's college basketball awards are announced, every Monday is becoming just another 'Megan Monday.'

After combining for 70 points and 30 rebounds in two games last week, it is no surprise that the former South Shore standout is the Big Ten Player of the Week again, breaking her own records for 11th time in a season and 21st time in a career. But - she is also the ESPNW National Player of the Week and she's on the Citizen Naismith Trophy Mid-Season Top-30 list.

On Sunday, Gustafson tied a Big Ten record with her 77th career double-double. She has 22 this season.

The 14th ranked hawkeyes host Illinois Thursday.
