Duluth, Minn. - Amy 'Hard Hands' Lemenager is 1-0 as a professional boxer and she's looking forward to stepping in the ring again.

The former Proctor/Hermantown hockey goalie and UW-Superior soccer player defeated Kayla Brady of New Town, North Dakota last Friday night at the Generation Next event at The Sports Garden in Duluth. The fight was Lemenager's pro debut. She fights at middleweight and she's already receiving recognition. The website BoxRec lists her as 10th in the U.S. and 17th in the World Female Rankings. For Lemenager, there aren't a lot of other female fighters in her weightclass locally, so finding competition may mean taking some long drives and flights.

"Kayla Brady is one of the few that is in the Midwest, so I'm going to have to do some traveling," says Lemenager.

Besides boxing, Lemenager is also pursuing a career in law enforcement.

She trains at the Jungle Boy Boxing Gym in Duluth and two of her stablemates were also victorious on Friday night. Danny 'Lionheart' Huffman defeated Jake Henriksen by majority decision to improve to 3-0-1 as a pro. Huffman fights at middleweight. He's 126th nationally and 878th in the world.

Jesse 'Primo' Walters just graduated high school from Duluth Denfeld in the spring. Now, he's 2-0 as a pro after defeating Mark Slyter by third round TKO. Walters fights at featheweight and he is listed at 73rd nationally and 723rd worldwide.

Walters says he and his team are considering a couple opportunties for his next fight.

"We are just going to stay busy and as long as I don't get cut or anything in the ring, I'll keep fighting as many times as I can," says Walters.

Walters' uncle, Zach 'Jungle Boy' Walters, is a former pro and is currently the trainer at the Jungle Boy Boxing Gym.
