According to a Duluth News Tribune article, AMSOIL Arena will host pre-tournament games before the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The teams will practice and play pre-tournament games in Duluth. The 2026 World Juniors will include the defending champion United States, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Czechia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Germany, Latvia and Denmark.

Rochester, Mankato and Bemidji also have been announced as pre-tournament host cities. No team has been assigned to AMSOIL Arena yet.
