Alex Williamson captured his first title on Sunday in the 94th Annual Men's Northland Invitational hosted at the Northland Country Club.

Williamson, a Florida native, went up two after the 17th hole to take the win over Hermantown's Taylor Sundbom.

The event started with 164 golfers that took place in qualifying rounds beginning on Thursday. Northland Country Club Director of Golf Operations John Kuenzli said that the entire weekend was filled with competitive play.

"I've lost count of how many times we've had people make eagles by holding out shots from the fairway. It happened again today, we had two shots hold out from over 150 yards out, so it's just been fantastic golf," he said.
