Duluth, Minn. - Riley Tufte signed a entry-level pro deal with the NHL's Dallas Stars last week, leaving early before his senior season. Now, another bulldog is turning pro.

But in Parker Mackay's case, the senior captain is done with his college eligibility and this is the next step. That next step begins with the AHL's Texas Stars.

Mackay confirmed the signing today. The Stars are an affiliate for the NHL's Dallas Stars and play in Cedar Park, Texas.

Mackay's career at UMD is one of legends, three appearances in the NCAA Title Game and almost two weeks ago, he helped the Bulldogs win back-to-back national titles. The Irma, Alberta native was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and finished his career on a five-game point streak.

It is a one-year, one way AHL deal. He'll also attend the Dallas Stars Development Camp this summer and their training camp in the Fall.
