"It has been fun and I'd like to go for another couple of years and get that 100 mark (laughs), says Sertich.

Friends and family were either on skates or in the stands as Serty celebrated. There were four generations of Sertich's there. His 95-year old sister Katherine looked on. No goals, but a few assists for Serty. Birthdays or not, Serty often plays multiple times a week in the Duluth Firefighter's Morning Games. His grandson Andy Sertich played played pro hockey, including with a team in Austria. Mark often plays with that jersey on.

"Ttruthfully, when I was playing, I would call him for advice and he really helped me in my playing career and it is the least that I can do to give him some stuff and skate with him every chance I get," says Andy Sertich, who was a prep standout for Greenway and played college hockey for the Gophers. He's current an Assistant Coach with Greenway.

Mark holds the Guinness World Record at 96 years, 2 days. He's broken his own mark before. The Guinness World Records require he play in an actual competition to certify a record. Mark has been a frequent participant in the Snoopy Senior Tournament in Santa Rosa, California and that tournament meets the standard. This year, 'The Snoopy' is on hiatus as repairs are underway to the arena. Mark hopes to teturn and play in it next Summer.
