2019 marks the 24th year of the Two Harbors to Duluth Northshore Inline Marathon and Skate Fest. This year, there will be a 50-thousandth finisher.

New this year is a Tunnel 10k Skate and 21k half marathon distance roller ski - to go with the main races.

Skate Fest is three days, starting Friday and going to Sunday. It includes clinics, demos and Saturday evenings' roller rink party.

Organizers say there are record numbers expected for the roller ski marathon and running races are close to record numbers. They also say the inline races are seeing growth from last year.

You can still sign-up online through Wednesday or on-site Friday. To visit the Northshore Inline Marathon and Skate Fest website, click here.

The finish line is back to the historical spot by the DECC after it was moved for one year with the seawall expansion. Returners are often quick to compliment the course.

"That is something that our skaters say every year. it has smooth roads and the potholes are filled and streets are swept and also the point-to-point course along Lake Superior, you really can't get a better course than that.," says Race Director Mike Ward.
