University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women's hockey head coach Maura Crowell and future Bulldogs Maggie Flaherty and Lizi Norton were a part of Team USA's 9-3 victory over Sweden claiming the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women's World Championship.

The win gives the United States its fourth-straight gold medal at the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship and marks its seventh title in the eventís 11-year history.

This marked Crowell's second gold medal as she served as the associate coach on Team USA.

The United States also claimed gold in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
