The Y has a long, proud history of promoting civic engagement. It’s an essential part of our cause to strengthen communities,” said Sara Cole, CEO at Duluth Area Family YMCA. “We know that one reason people may not vote is due to lack of child care and we want to ensure that those who want to, are able to make their voices heard. As the largest provider of child care in the country, the Y is uniquely positioned to offer care on Election Day to all families in the community.”

Along with free child care services, the Y will also be hosting election parties. It's a community initiative funded by Vote Together USA to create a culture around voting that focuses on togetherness, community, and fun.

The Y will have free music, food, and fun for all on November 5 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and November 6 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Duluth YMCA will offer free child care at the Downtown YMCA Branch on 302 W 1st Street from  8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Two hours of care is provided.
