DFL House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler hosted a community conversation at the Zeitgeist Arts Building Saturday. He was joined by Duluth Rep. Liz Olson and Rep. Jennifer Schultz and other legislators. The goal is to get important feedback from the community about their thoughts on legalizing and regulating cannabis for adult use.

"We want to have a policy that’s rationale and fits the need of Minnesota and allows people to have access to cannabis for health and personal reasons,” said Winkler.

Winkler also said that he wants to make sure people aren’t unfairly prosecuted based on the color of their skin when it comes to felony marijuana possession.

Winkler is hosting 14 other meetings across the state. The next being in Minneapolis on Sept. 25.
