Women for Trump bus tour kicks off in Hermantown

Updated: August 18, 2020 05:57 PM

The Women for Trump bus tour across Minnesota has hit the road. The first stop on the 2-day tour was in Hermantown, at the Trump Victory Committee office.

On the pink bus are Jennifer Carnahan, the chair of the Minnesota GOP, and Katrina Pierson, a senior adviser for the Trump 2020 campaign.

They were greeted by a couple of dozen supporters, including Congressman Pete Stauber and his wife Jodi.

Jodi Stauber praised President Trump, saying he has the back of law enforcement and the military.

Pierson encouarged the crowd to help turn Minnesota red. "Don't believe the polls. I get this question every time I'm on the news. What about the polls? And I say, what about em? I've been with Donald Trump since 2015. He's never won in the polls. And the only poll that matters, is the poll on election day."

The president was just in Minnesota on Monday, stopping in Minneapolis and Mankato.

On Tuesday, the DFL Party Executive Director Sally Miller sent a statement about the Women for Trump Minnesota bus tour. It reads, in part, “Trump’s record has been nothing short of a disaster for Minnesota women. From his attacks on health care, to rolling back rules around equal pay, Trump didn’t just break his campaign promise to be ‘the best’ on women’s issues, he completely disregarded it."
