Concern over injured wolf near Marathon, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police are urging the public to use caution in areas of Marathon where a possibly-injured wolf has recently been seen.

The wolf has been seen several times in the area of Holy Saviour School/Ecole Val Des Bois, Penn Lake road, the Penn Lake Park area, and as Barrick Gold Drive, according to an OPP news release.

Officials believe it may be injured because it has been observed limping.

The OPP said an injured anmial can be unpredictable and encouraged people to use caution in the areas where the wolf has been seen. They are asking anyone who sees the wolf to call police at 1-888-310-1122.

The are working with conservation officers from the Ministry of Natural Resrouces.
