Duluth Welcomes Wounded Warriors Ahead of Outdoors Weekend

Thursday afternoon, the Duluth International Airport welcomed four veterans who are Purple Heart recipients.

The vets came as part of the annual "Wounded Warriors in Action Bayfield Cast and Blast". The organization gathered the veterans from all across the country for a weekend of hunting and fishing in Wisconsin. One veteran, Patrick Garrett of Mississippi, is an avid hunter in his state and looks forward to this hunt's change in environment. Garrett says the veteran group took care of everything ahead of their sporting weekend.

"They have everything scheduled, our flights, just straight on through, and we're moving right along to try and get to the camp and have some fun," said Patrick Garrett. "This is where bonds are made and friends are made, and I hope to gather a lot from it."

The Wounded Warriors in Action have many events focused at getting wounded veterans active again by providing many outdoor sporting activites.
