Worker Filling Potholes Hit by Vehicle

The Gogebic County Sheriff's Office says a worker filling potholes in Bessemer suffered injuries when he was hit by a vehicle.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. Thursday.  According to a news release, the 52-year-old Gogebic County Road Commission employee tried to get out of the way, but couldn't in time.

The worker was transported to Aspirus Grand View Hospital for treatment.

The 84-year-old driver, who was cited, stated he did not see the victim or the utility vehicle until it was too late.
