Work on 2nd Street in Duluth Beginning Monday; Lane Closures Expected

Created: September 15, 2019 10:38 PM

Work is beginning Monday on 2nd Street in Duluth, which is expected to result in lane closures.

Crews will be doing work on both the substreet infrastructure on 2nd Street, as well as replacing windows in the skywalk that connects the Courthouse to the 3rd Street parking ramp.

Motorists who travel on 2nd Street between Mesaba Avenue and 4th Avenue West in Duluth should expect lane closures and detours.

Work on the two projects is being coordinated to take place at the same time to minimize the disruption to traffic.

Signs will be posted to indicate when lane closures are in place, or when a detour to 4th Street is required.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution any time they are traveling in or near a work zone.

The projects are expected to be complete by mid to late October.
