Sherlon Adams was walking out of Chipotle Monday afternoon when she spotted something on the ground -- two rings.

One was an engagement ring with a wedding ring sautered on, the other was a plain engagement ring.

"They were just laying on the ground," Adams said. "The first thing I did was I walked back into Chipotle. I asked to speak to the manager there. I told him what I had just found."

Now, she's on a mission to find the rightful owner.

She left her information with the Chipotle manager in case anyone came looking for them. She also went to Sport Clips and Five Guys to let them know. And she called mall security.

She lives in Washburn, so on her way back, she joined some Duluth garage sale pages on Facebook and posted there, hoping it would get shared and someone would contact her.

"I'm so heartbroken for the person that lost them," Adams said. "I would be shattered, especially this close to Christmas."

She opted not to send a photo because she wants to make sure she gives them back to the right person.

"I just want a description of the rings to the best of their abilities," Adams said, "maybe even a picture if they have one because I just want to make sure that it goes back to the right owner."

She hasn't heard from anyone yet. She said her next step will be to take out an ad in the Duluth News Tribune. She said she'll turn the rings in to the Duluth Police Department if she exhausts all other options, but she wants to try to get them in the right hands herself.

"I believe in karma, and I believe in doing the right thing, especially in this day and age where so much wrong is going on in the world," Adams said. "I'm just trying to make a difference a little at a time."

Adams said the best way to contact her is on Facebook.
