The St. Louis County Sheriff's office says they were dispatched to the Park Point Resort in Kabetogama, around 4:53 p.m Wednesday. St. Louis County Dispatch had received a 911 call that a male had fallen out of a boat and was unconscious in the water.

The boat operator, a 55-year-old male, along with a passerby were able to pull the male back into the boat. He was then transported to Park Point Resort. Medical personnel responded to the scene and provided life-saving efforts, but the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He is identified as 66-year-old Wlodzimierz Dziechciowski of Chicago, Illinois. The cause of death is pending autopsy results by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Anoka.

According to the sheriff's office, the 55-year-old boat operator reported that he and Dziechciowski were under way in their boat, when they struck another boat's wake and Dziechciowski fell overboard.

The boat operator was arrested for criminal vehicular operation resulting in death. Formal charges are pending.

The incident remains under investigation.
