Roosevelt Elementary in Virginia does this each year, to honor our men and women who've served.

One veteran, Walter Iverson, fought in the Korean War. His son, Daniel, shared more about the service. "He was 19-years-old and in the battlefield, 9 months after graduation. It was so cold their weapons didn't work."

Both Iversons enjoyed the program. "It was fantastic, and very enthusiastic," Iverson said.

There were songs, a slideshow, essays and more.
