16 pairs of boots sit at the foot of a Christmas tree that stretches from floor to ceiling at the Duluth Technology Village. These boots, along with 72 pairs of gloves will be donated to service members at the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans by A&L Properties.

“Really to be honest, our phone rang one day. Tiffany from A&L Properties had called and said: ‘We’re putting up a tree. We want to put some boots under there. What else do you guys need?,’” Paul Pedersen, Program & Outreach Manager at the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans said.

Pedersen said that these donations are highly appreciated by the nonprofit organization that works to help service members who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

“If we can help somebody out by giving them a warm pair of gloves or a warm pair of boots, you know, while they’re getting ready to come talk to us a little bit more or come sit down and work towards their housing plan, we’re always grateful to be able to do that,” Pedersen said.

A&L Properties invites others wishing to support service members to bring new winter clothing or checks to their office in suite 130 of Duluth Technology Village.
