On Tuesday at Jeff Foster Trucking, an endowment check was presented to UWS for $13,000. It's for students enrolled in the Transportation and Logistics Business Management degree program.

"Transportation and logistics, for the whole country, is a vital role to play," says Leyla Aktekin, Recruiter at Jeff Foster, and Past President of the DSTA. "All of our goods are transported via tractor-trailer, by rail, by sea, by air. So really, we need more folks going into that program, and this is one way we can ensure that happens."

Last spring, the first scholarship program was presented to a UWS student, he was in attendance of Tuesday's presentation. "We will continue to that and grow this endowment fund until we can present multiple students with multiple scholarships," Aktekin says.
