Two people were injured when two jet skis collided on an Iron Range lake Friday afternoon.
A man and woman from Hibbing were riding one jet ski on Little Sturgeon Lake in French Township, about 18 miles north of Chisholm. They turned toward the shore, and another jet ski, driven by a man from Chisholm, hit them.
All three were thrown from their jet skis.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said a 38-year-old man from Hibbing was airlifted to Essentia in Duluth with a left leg injury. A 34-year-old Hibbing woman was taken by ambulance to Essentia in Virginia with an injury to her left leg. The 37-year-old Chisholm man was not hurt.
The names are being withheld while the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office investigates. They say charges are pending because alcohol is believed to be a factor.
The Minnesota DNR, Chisholm Fire and Ambulance, Hibbing Ambulance, French Township first responders, and North Memorial Air Medical also responded.
