Police: Two Men Steal Prescription Narcotics from Edgewood Vista in Virginia

The Virginia Police Department says two men stole prescription narcotics during a robbery at Edgewood Vista around 3:40 Monday morning.

Chief Nicole Mattson says Virginia Police Department Officers were advised by Edgewood Vista employees that two younger men had entered the facility through the unlocked main entrance doors approximately 20 minutes prior to the 911 call.   

Chief Mattson says the men were wearing masks, bandanas, dark clothing and gloves, and that one of the men was armed with a shotgun.

The men took the prescription narcotics from the facility, and left in a vehicle, according to Chief Mattson.

There were no injuries during the robbery.

The robbery is under investigation, and the Virginia Police Department says they will release more information when it is available.

Edgewood Vista's Executive Vice President, Robert Ford, Jr., issued a statement: "Edgewood's priority is the safety and well-being of our residents and employees. We can confirm a break in occurred during the early hours Monday morning. There was no interruption in resident care. At this time the local authorities are investigating the incident, therefore we are unable to comment."
