Agents Arrest 58 People in Twin Cities Sex Trafficking Sting

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota authorities say nearly five dozen people are facing charges for sex trafficking following an undercover operation in several Twin Cities communities.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 28 victims were rescued from sex trafficking situations, including one minor.

The sting was conducted April 4-8. Undercover agents and investigators posed as minors or as sex buyers on several social media platforms. Suspects were arrested as they arrived at an arranged meeting place for an encounter.

The BCA says 47 people were arrested for probable cause solicitation of a minor of solicitation of prostitution under 16 years of age. Police booked 11 people on probable cause sex trafficking, promotion of prostitution.

The Duluth Police Department was among the agencies that contributed resources to the operation.
