A fire caused about $80,000 in damage to a Beltrami County home and its contents on Thursday.

The fire in Turtle River Township was reported around 11 a.m. Arriving crews from the Bemidji Fire Department found the attached garage engulfed in flames, and fire spreading to the home.

The fire department says the cause appears to be accidental, but the official cause is still under investigation.

Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours. Beltrami Electric Co-op and Bemidji Ambulance service also responded to the scene.
