New Duluth Hotel Opens Tomorrow

The new Tru by Hilton hotel in Duluth will open and begin taking reservations Thursday morning. It's located between downtown Duluth and the Miller Hill Mall at 503 Clearwood Drive.

"I know a lot of people come to Duluth to visit Canal Park, but being away from it, you know, it gives them a place to rest. They can go down there and visit and then come back to the hotel and rest," shared the general manager Amanda Johnson.

The hotel boasts 101 rooms, offering either double queen or single king rooms, as well as many communal areas. "We want people to get out of their rooms, come to the lobby, enjoy our board games, visit with other travelers, enjoy our eat and sit market where you can purchase snacks and beverages 24 hours a day, and just basically enjoy the entire lobby area and visit with other people," said Johnson.

Aside from the large lobby there is also a pool, patio and workout room in the hotel. Johnson expressed their hope that these features, alongside their new digital key allowing customers to check in and use their phone as their key, will set them apart from the other accommodations offered in Duluth.

Price wise, Johnson said the rooms will be based off of other Hilton hotels averaging around the middle of the Duluth hotel price market.

Officially the hotel opens Thursday, however a grand opening event and ribbon cutting will take place October 3 and is open to the public.
