Triple 'A' Award winners for Region 7A announced

On Wednesday, the Triple 'A' Award winners for Region 7A were honored during the first intermission of the Section 7A Championship game at the Amsoil Arena. The Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award honors high school seniors who have a 3.0 or higher-grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.

The Region 7A award winners for Subsection 25 are: 

  • Andrea Pocernich, Cromwell High School
  • Zachary Youngs, Moose Lake High School

The Region 7A award winners for Subsection 26 are:

  • Keegan McAuliffe, Duluth Marshall
  • Chad Hart, Esko High School

The Region 7A award winners for Subsection 27 are:

  • Jillian Zeidler, Virginia High School
  • Ryley Krenz, Virginia High School

The Region 7A award winners for Subsection 28 are:

  • Bailey Ann Mason, Greenway High School
  • Tait Konsgjord, Deer River High School

The Section chooses two recipients to receive the Section Triple 'A' Award. 

Congratulations to Andrea Pocernich of Cromwell. Andrea is the overall female section winner. She is the daughter of Bill and Marcia Pocernich.

Congratulations also goes to Chad Hart of Esko. Chad is the son of Ashley Hart and Kevin Hart. He is the overall male section winner.

These two students will have their names submitted to the state level of this competition. The statewide award winners, a girl and a boy from Class A and Class AA schools, will also receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.

Congratulations to all eight Region 7A Triple 'A' Award winners.
