Phillip Sher, former president of the synagogue, tells WDIO News the scrolls burned in the Central Hillside garage fire on Sunday night. The City of Duluth says they believe Sunday's garage fire was circumstantial, and they do not expect any foul play.

Sher says the scrolls were being held in the garage as they were going to be buried.

Sher says the scrolls are still going to be buried in accordance with Jewish law.

Ten other scrolls were recovered from the fire back in September, according to Sher.

The synagogue will be excavated when permits are approved.
