Smith, Lewis advance in Minnesota Senate race

Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) and Jason Lewis have advanced in the primary races for the Minnesota U.S. Senate seat up for grabs this November.

Smith, the incumbent, was appointed to the seat by former Gov. Mark Dayton after former Sen. Al Franken resigned. 

Lewis was the GOP frontrunner. He represented Minnesota's 2nd congressional district in the House of Representatives from 2017-2019. 

The two will face off in the general election on Nov. 3.
