Superior Police: Two Sex Offenders to be Released

Two registered sex offenders will be moving into Superior in the coming days.

According to police, Walter Lange, 44, will be living in the 3000 block of E 4th Street. His release date is Thursday, the 7th. Authorities said he has a history of sexual contact with a juvenile female. But he was found not guilty by reason of mental defect. He has been staying at a supervised living facility in Madison. 

He also has convictions of exposing genitals to a child, sex with a child age 16 or older and 2nd degree sexual assault of a child, per the press statement.

There will be a community notification meeting about Lange on Thursday at 5pm, in city council chambers inside the Douglas County Government Center.

The second offender is Jesse Thompson, 41. He'll be living in the 1600 block of N 16th Street, starting on Tuesday, February 12th.

According to police, he has history of sexual contact with a juvenile girl. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison and 5 years of extended supervision. He's also been convicted three times of failing to update his information with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
