A suspect is in custody for an incident involving a 11-year-old boy injured in a hit-and-run in Superior Friday afternoon. 

At about 11:00 p.m. the Superior Police Department received information which led to the arrest of an adult female suspect.

According to the Superior Police Department, the boy was riding on a bicycle when he was hit by a car. It happened around 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of Hammond Ave. and N. 12th St. 

Authorities say the female driving the car fled before they arrived on the scene. The vehicle she was driving was described as a maroon or red SUV.

The boy was taken to the hospital with injuries. His current condition is not known. 

The Police Departments says anyone with information about the incident should call 911. 

The incident is still being investigated and more information will be released as it becomes available.
