MnDOT said that signs are going to be installed the week of July 15th. Once they are up, the increase will go into effect.

The highways include:

1) Highway 37 between Hibbing and Highway 53m, and between 53 and Gilbert

2) Highway 38 between Grand Rapids and County Road 19

3) Highway 169 between Hill City and LaPlant Road south of Grand Rapids, and the Cross Range Expressway between Taconite and Pengilly

The speed increase is based on a traffic and engineering study, according to MnDOT.
