New snowmen and snow sculptures dot the landscape at the Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. They are the handiwork of the National Honor Society students from Cloquet.
Armed with shovels and their creativity, they got to work around noon on Wednesday. Residents watched through the windows.
One of the students, Sadie Senich, shared, "I think we're a group of kids that likes to help people. It's nice to be able to bring a little joy into their lives."
The volunteer coordinator from the center, Deanna Johnson, made the call to the NHS, asking if they could come over and help. "Just trying to think of something to put a smile on residents' faces. And the NHS students need volunteer hours. It's a win-win for students and residents."
Senich said they have been volunteering at Community Memorial Hospital as well.
