Everywhere You Go, There's Mountains of Snow

As you do your errands around town, you might have noticed that the snow is making it harder to see around corners and harder to park.

On Friday, WDIO went out and looked for some of the bigger piles around Duluth. The Duluth International Airport has a pretty big one, since their crews have been working continuously.

Also, some shopping areas are seeing big mountains, with plowed snow in different corners. UMD also has a big pile.

Some folks are OK with all of it. Joe Diettrich, a UMD student, told us, "They're getting pretty big. At the mall, it's kind of hectic around there. But it's kind of cool, kind of neat to see."

Others, like Zach Richards, would prefer it on the ski hill only. "It's pretty annoying and unsafe, you have to peek around the corners. You can't see people coming sometimes."

For kids, it's all about fun and games. Austin Synkiew has made a giant snow pile in front yard into a slide! "My wrestling coach plowed it to make it higher!"

He's a 9-year-old from Cloquet, who loves the outdoors. "If he could have winter all year long, he would," his dad Shawn told us.

Shawn actually had emergency surgery at the beginning of the month. "Our neighbors helped us out with the snow. His coach came with his plow truck and plowed us out, and created all of this fun for Austin."
