It's life in prison for a man who killed another man back on Christmas Day in Hibbing in 2018.

32-year-old Jerome Spann heard his fate on Tuesday.

He'd been found guilty by a judge in September, for the death of Jeryel McBeth.

Court records show he was also convicted of assault.

Assistant St. Louis County Attorney Jessica Fralich prosecuted the case.

Ms. Fralich noted, "Every single action in life has a ripple effect beyond our comprehension.  All I can hope for Mr. McBeth's family is that, today, they have seen justice served, they can now put this chapter of grief behind them, and they can turn the corner to look for healing and peace."

The St. Louis County Attorney's Office extends its thanks to the Hibbing Police Department and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for the work and investigation in this matter.
