Richard I. Bong Center Gives Back to Veterans on Thanksgiving

The Richard I. Bong Historical Center in Superior hosted a free Thanksgiving dinner for veterans Thursday.

The event is a way to thank the veterans for their service along with a delicious meal with all the trimmings. Everybody watched the Bears and Lions football game together on a big screen.

“The museum is free for the whole family. You can wander around all you want and it's a great day if you don't have a lot of money. It's a great place to come and eat with friends and relatives and see the museum,” said Dennis Bee, a past commander for the American Legion Post 435.

There was also a station to write Christmas cards for troops overseas.This is the second year the Bong Center hosts the Thanksgiving event.
