Rice Lake residents enjoying new water main, road

Every year, water main breaks off of East Calvary cost the city of Rice Lake money.

But now, they've invested $3 million dollars into new pipe. And it's covered up by a new road on Chicago Avenue. 

Mayor John Werner explained, "Certainly this is a big improvement. There's 40 homes affected by this new system and four businesses."

Werner added the residents were not assessed for the work, and the city was able to cover the costs with loan and grant money.

Crews are still finalizing some of the project.
