It's not clear what caused it, but rubble could be seen below the restaurant off London Rd.

The Duluth Police Department responded to the wall's collapse.

Debris from the wall is now cleared off the street and sidewalk. McDonalds contacted the contractor who built the retaining wall.

A building official with the city of Duluth will evaluate the situation on Wednesday. Crews put up caution tape around the area Tuesday evening.

For the time being, the London Road entrance to McDonalds is closed, and some parking spots are blocked off.
