Liz Iammatteo loves to cook. "It's a sign of love," she said. She grew up in a home where there was always entertaining. And she enjoys doing that now, as well.

She's a Pampered Chef Director, and over the holidays, saw another director putting together bags for the hungry.

So she decided to start her own Blessing Bags. Iammatteo considers herself the organizer of open-hearted helpers. "It's a group of people who've come together to bless others, to share with others," she explained.

She filled the bags with ingredients to make the Microwave White Chicken Chili, along with the recipe.  Donations helped her fill 31 bags. And those were given out at the Keewatin Elementary School.

And that's not all. She also collected donations to give 8 egg cookers to staff at Guardian Angels in Hibbing. "I wanted to give something as a thank you. This whole COVID situation, not able to see families, workers having to step forward to be family to these people," Iammatteo added.

And some of the products also are helping the Hibbing firefighters make their meals.

The plan is to put together another round of Blessing Bags in April for the Nashwauk food shelf.

If you want to help Liz, you can reach out to her on Facebook. Her name there is Elizabeth Richards-Iammatteo. Or contact her via email at eliziammatteo@gmail.com
