It was graduation time for Minnesota North Rainy River Campus, when they got the call about flood response.

Brad Krasaway, Director of Operations, said, "Students moved out. And we had a couple of days to flip the rooms and get them ready for the National Guard."

Others from agencies like Homeland Security, the DNR, and the Red Cross are also staying there.

More guardsmen are set to arrive by Thursday evening. "We'll have 88 people by this evening, between the guard and volunteers," Krasaway added.

They are proud to help. "The college has always prided itself on being active in the community. Whether it's training people for their next job, or helping students who've graduated from high school find their way. This is just another way to help."

He said they've also secured a contract to provide temporary shelter, if people have to leave their homes and properties because of road closures.
