“It is very exciting to have narrowed the field to nine finalists for Duluth’s next flag,” Adam Fulton, Deputy Director of Planning
and Economic Development said in a press release. “We were pleased with the number of entries that we received, and look forward to the public voting
because ultimately, a city flag can become a unifying symbol and rallying point for a community.”

Designs were submitted by 98 artists from ten states and three countries, and were between the ages of five and 70.

The Flag Committee used information from a flag survey, artist's description and overall sense that the flag would represent Duluth in chosing the nine finalists. Now it is the publics turn.

Vote for your favorite flag design at or visit the in-person voting stations at the Duluth Public Libraries until June 21.

The new City flag will be introduced in July.
