Suspect in custody after standoff at St. Cloud bank, all hostages safe

Police say a suspect is in custody Thursday night after a hostage situation at a Well Fargo in St. Cloud. 

The suspect was seen being led out of the bank shortly before 10:30 p.m.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, all hostages that were inside the bank are safe and uninjured. 

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, officers were dispatched right before 2 p.m. on the report of a robbery in progress at the Wells Fargo on 33rd Avenue South. As of 5 p.m., police said the incident is active and ongoing.

WDIO's sister-station, KSTP reported that four hostages were safely released Thursday evening. 

Police ask people to stay out of the area. Police said no injuries have been reported. The FBI is assisting with the investigation.

Wells Fargo issued the following statement regarding the incident: "We can confirm a hostage situation at Wells Fargo's St. Cloud South branch, located at 200 33rd Avenue South. We are cooperating with local law enforcement and will do whatever we can to assist the authorities in their investigation. We recognize this is a traumatic moment for the community and our colleagues. The safety and security of our customers and employees is our most important priority."
