Superior Police say they investigated a threat made to Superior Middle School, but determined the threat was "not credible, and does not pose a danger to students."

In a news release, the Superior Police Department said the threat was made via social media.

"The Superior Police Department and Superior School District collaborated to take immediate and decisive action to address the issue," the news release says. "While the content of the six second video post was shocking and alarming, it was ultimately determined that the threat was NOT credible," it adds.

Superior Police say those responsible have been identified by police. It is unclear at this time whether anybody is in custody.

Superior Police say extra patrol will be dedicated to the schools as a precautionary measure, however, they don't believe that there is any ongoing threat.
