Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Thunder Bay

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle late Tuesday evening in Thunder Bay.

The crash happened on Oliver Road near Cambridge Street and Beckwick Road at about 11:25 p.m. The Thunder Bay Police Service says an adult male was struck by a sport utility vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead after being transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

A police news release did not say whether the driver of the vehicle had been identified or might face charges.

The TBPS's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash and asking anyone who might have information on this case to call police at 807-684-1200 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com.
