The Patrol says 33-year-old Michael Andrew Yost of Balsam Lake, Wis., was "walking near or in the traffic lanes" of Highway 48 about one mile east of I-35, which is in the area of Grand Casino Hinckley.

Yost was struck by an eastbound pickup truck at about 5:35 p.m. and died of his injuries.  The truck was driven by a 60-year-old Hinckley man.

The report says the road was covered in snow and ice at the time of the crash.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol.
