Sunday afternoon, Pattison State Park had several activities to ring in the fall season at their Fall Colorama.

The event was sponsored by the Friends of Pattison and Amnicon Falls State Parks. They held a scavenger hunt and had attendees make their own apple cider using an apple press. One Friends of Pattison and Amnicon member, Bill Elder, helped run the apple press and was glad to see how many came out for the event and enjoyed the park.

"Not only do you get to participate in the activity but you go over and see the falls and enjoy the rest of the park," said Bill Elder.

Along with the apple press, Superior Boy Scout Troop 221 demonstrated how to cook using a Dutch oven. While they had several varieties of cobblers they made and gave to park goers, they said Dutch ovens aren't just for cooking desserts.

"You can cook anything in these Dutch ovens," said Troop 221 Assistant Scoutmaster Dan Kittleson. "You can cook lasagna, pizzas, chilies, anything else like that. It's just showing the wide variety of things you can cook in a Dutch oven."

This was the fourth year that the Troop 221 has volunteered at the event.
